Hi, I am using RH9 for a long time. I had no problems at all. Recently I have downloaded some new Welcome Themes from gnome webpage. Today I installed a new theme and and started my system. My problem is when I enter the username after few seconds it again comes to the same page and never asks for the password. After few trails it says unable to continue and come to the command line mode.
I am sure that the problem is due to the newly installed welcome theme. My question is how do I change this from command line? Which file should I have to edit. I would like to set standard greeter. Later I can change it.
Please help me in this regard. I couldnt do anything.
Best Regards, Senthil Kumar,R.

for future reference you could have also added a 3 to the end of your kernel boot string (press 'a' at grub to edit your boot string temporarily) to boot to runlevel 3, then logged in and ran the 'init 5' command to switch to runlevel 5, at which point you should be dumped in your usual graphical environment (essentially voiding the graphical greeter (gdm)) without having to make any perminany changes to system configs.
