Hello guys,
I am new to linux and I would like to practice on redhat linux, but I don't have my own pc so I could install it. I would like to know if there is any online server that allows you to practice on redhat linux 9.0 or fedora or any other way that I could install a virtual version of redhat. I tried vmware but it didn't work, after I installed vmware I tried to install redhat on it, but it didn't recognize the 1st redhat cd...always prompting me to insert a bootable cd. any advise will be appreciated.
Thank you.

I used to have the local library as my ISP, which in addition to internet provided me shell access via telnet via dialup.  I think they still do.  You may find a local ISP with that arrangement to give you shell access, though it would be command-line only.

The way I learned Linux was to take the incremental approach.  I installed Cygwin under Windows and used it for years before actually switching totally to Linux.  Cygwin gives you an excellent Bash shell and environment very much like Linux.  They also provide many X graphical applications (compiled for Cygwin), though I never used them.

I use VMware also (but in the other way--I run Windows under Linux).  But Cygwin is much better than Linux under VMware IMO, because it's actually running on the real machine, not in an emulated environment.
