Any help with UTF-8 filenames with be grand.
Here is the scenario:
I have a windows box which has a directory full of directorys and files and the names of these files and directories are in unescaped utf-8 (greek letters, accent marks etc). This directory is circa 100mb so I want to compress it and upload it and then decompress. I know for a fact that utf-8 for zip is broken and I also experimented a little with tar without much success. How can I do this?
The distro is a kind of old suse distro, dont have the details handy but I am not sure if this matters?
