Hi
    My System (Suse 10.0) has identified soundcard... but no one of my (video/audio) players such as xmms, amarok, kaffeine,... cannot play files. My major file-types are in DAT and mp3 formats. Some of players wants plugins, although i checked for e.g. xmms-plugins package to be installed... or error about unsupported formats...
    Also, I should tell that i installed Multimedia packages after OS installing itself. I mean that perhaps i leave out some necessary packages... Please help me. thank u

You probably need to add a repository to install the xmms-plugin. Check with your distro documentation.

I told that I checked for xmms-plugins to be installed:
$ rpm -qa | grep -i xmms-plugins
xmms-plugins-x.y.z
$ ...

But I don't know about 'repository'...
