I'm not too familiar with Linux but I did set up a Mandrake box back at school for a club and that box is still up and running (I graduated a year and a half ago). I'm currently in China right now and a bunch of random websites are being blocked. I know there are public proxies, but those get blocked a lot.
I was hoping since I have access to a machine outside, I could set up a simple proxy I could use here, just for myself and maybe a couple of friends.
Since the computer is 10,000 miles away I'd rather not try to experiment with it too much. Does anything have concrete experience with this and is it pretty simple to set up? Thanks! (I know almost nothing about squid and ipchains)
