You can search for such projects in sf.net or freshmeat.net. Most of them have windoze ports.

while i no longer support the use or promotion of vb, the a1vbcode.com archives are host to a fair amount of open source softwares and code snippets. back when i was a vb developer i too used to submit here .
[EDIT] also used to submit to the blitzcoder.com archives which hosted some FANTASTIC open source softwares and gamed. blitzcoder has since become codersworkshop.com though, and i couldn't say whats on offer now.

...if the systems still as it was with blitzcoder, developers choose whether or not to provide the source at the time of submission. some developers do and some don't. this is entirely independant of the site maintainers and you should find some pretty amazing open-source projects.

Hi folks,
Would it be I made a mistake?
I ran the OpenCD and found that it is Ubuntu, the LiveCD. Previously I thought that it is a CD containing Free/OpenSource packages/software. Therefore I tried to read its ISO image to find out the software included on it.

Sorry this took so long. My computer died, and since it is under warrenty, I took it back to the shop. It took them 8 days to get the part and fix it, but it is now working.
I am not sure what happened to the OpenCD thing. I have used the site before, but now I can't go to any of their download sites to find the actual OpenCD. I am still working on it, though.
I have version 1.2, although the web site says that there is a version 3.1, based on Ubuntu 5.10. since these are open source programs for Windows, I have no idea why the thing is based on Ubuntu.
I am going to download the latest version and see what I can do with it.
Sorry about the problems.

Hi celticgeek,
I'm sorry learning that you got hardware problem. Today the cost of computer component is quite cheap. You can consider building a spare PC yourself from components, no difficulty at all, easier than learning software. I built many PCs myself in the past.
Coming back to LiveCD I started running it since the 1st birth of Knoppix: http://www.knoppix.org/ several years ago.
Please download and try it. There are many LiveCDs running either Linux or Unix.
