G'Day,

- I have just done a fresh install of Fedora Core 4 on a box
- I am pretty sure I did not see this problem then
- I then did a "yum update"
- Now I can login in as user root or donovan into KDE with no problem
- However when I log in with another valid user candice I am able to enter the username and password at the login prompt, but once the KDE desktop comes up the keyboard is non responsive. Ie If I try and type text in "Run Command" or "Kate"
then nothing happens.

Any suggestions / pointers etc. appreciated.

TIA

I have further narrowed this down:

- The keyboard is non responsive for that particular user
- ie. Press letter "a" and nothing happens (in Kate) hold down letter "a" and eventually letter a appears and starts repeating
- I have checked the keyboard settings for that user and they are the same as the users for whom the keyboard works

Does turning NumLock off make any difference?, try turning it off during boot.

G'Day,

- Solved It!!!!
- *Somehow* the accessibility to use "slow keys" had been set for that user. Hence the long presses required
- Unset that and all is good
