PureFTPd virtual users question

Only been doing linux for 2 weeks now so be gentle...

Got everything set up running Fedora Core 4 and Pureftpd with Virtual
users using puredb as the local users database.  I understand to use
the pure-pw command to add users but is there any way to use a file
list of users and passwords and import them into my local puredb
database?  All pw's are encrypted so I'm not sure how to do this and I
have an ftp site with about 400 users to bring up.  Any help would be
appreciated.
