Quake 4 for GNU/Linux is available now! The installer has been uploaded to our ftp and on the BitTorrent tracker. We're very pleased to announce that this it with both a dedicated server and a native client.

A licensed copy of Quake 4 retail for Windows® is required You will copy the assets files from it and use the CD key ( a CD key is not required to run a dedicated server )

Nice game!

It actually works quite good on my P4 2.2Ghz with 512MB, can't use too much details but that doesn't bother much.

I cannot afford to buy Quake4 at the moment sad.gif , but I'm playing DOOM3 in Linux, seems more enjoyable second time around.

Never tried Doom3 on my comp, did do it on my brothers (windows box) once. His computer is quite a bit faster than mine, and it had trouble running doom3 even on low detail. And now Quake4 is running pretty decent on my computer. So my guess is they improved the engine quite a bit, preformance wise.

They must have because Doom3 is a real machine breaker, I can run it at 1280x1024/AF x8/Full detail but when you get into hell, it really hammers your machine.
