Hello,

I'm installing a AMD 64Bit CPU System with 1Gb DDR and a 80Gb SATA drive with linux.
The server will be used to host game servers.
The distro I think I will use is Debian Sarge

Anybody have any hints on kernel tweaking, hdparm settings, ...
I heard the kernel setting of HZ and USER_HZ should be set to 250 instead of the 2.6.x 1000 default... Is that right ?

Anyone also know of any open source game control panel?

Thx !

Only 100hz/1000hz is in 2.6.14-RC so 100hz and Preemption model/No Forced Preemption (Server) PREEMPT_NONE should be best for servers.

XQF is a game server browser, but thats all I know of.
