I recently installed Knoppix on my Optima laptop and with it came a 3d game called crystal space, wich came as an opengl version or a software version. When i run the software version the graphics aer smooth but when i run the opengl version the graphics slow down to around 1fps. anyone know why that is and how to fix it?

That's because there is no 3D driver available. Check your XFree/Xorg version and download the correct driver for your graphics card and it should be OK.
