Hi ppl,
I'm not sure if this is possible or not, but here goes:
I have a removable ide hard drive, the type the fits in a tray. It has an on/off switch.
Attempts to plug it into a running system have NOT blown up the machine! ( ) However, I'm then unable to access any ide device on that port (secondary).
Any idea if this can be done?

IDE drives dont get hotpluged, type fdisk -l as root and you should see your hard drive and you'll have to mount it depending on your distribution.
