Hi ppl,

I'm not sure if this is possible or not, but here goes:

I have a removable ide hard drive, the type the fits in a tray.
It has an on/off switch.

Attempts to plug it into a running system have NOT blown up the machine! (smile.gif)
However, I'm then unable to access any ide device on that port (secondary).

Any idea if this can be done?

IDE drives dont get hotpluged, type
CODE
fdisk -l
as root and you should see your hard drive and you'll have to mount it depending on your distribution.
