hey hey
I am having trouble with my dvd and dvd-r drives....when i put in a cd and try to install a software that is more than 1 cd i have problems....i am able to start instalation and maintain it until cd1 is finished....after when i put in cd 2 i get the error sayin insert cd 2 and the problem is, the drive is not being mounted, so i tried mounting it but it gave me an error..grr im not on linux at home right now so i cant give the exact messag....somethin like failed to mount drive or someting..can anyone help me out?

well, i have two drives, one is pioneer the other im not too sure, but it use to work fine before...i dont know what happened....it doesnt mount on any of them....like when i try to install it says insert cd 2 and i put it in but keeps asking for it....and i use suse--- its on under my pic down below

have you tryed to use drive1 for disk 1 and drive 2 for disk 2?  then after disk 2 starts replace disk 1 with disk 3 and so on?  that is the problem i had when installing ut2004 but i put the disk in drive 1 then drive 2 and so on.

ah well yea ut2k4 is one of the ones im installing...and yes i have tried that, lol i tried basically everything..and something new....i went on kdiskfree and told it to mount the drive, apparantly it mounts it after like 30 seconds but again says insert cd on the instalation....hahha

no one has any ideas on how i can fix this? please? my hardware is toshiba odd-dvd its a dvd-writer and i got a dvd reader....but it doesnt matter cuz i use to be able to mount'em...but now when i try to put in cd it doesnt mount and when i try focing mount it gives error sayin its already mounted but it still doesnt work.... sad.gif

ok i found a solution..for some reason my auto mounting has problems...therfor i tried mounting with su and it worked....i was also forced to unmount using su....if anyone has any suggestions for get the auto mount working again...please let me know...but its not a major thing..cuz its pretty easy for me to mount and unmount using konsole
